Usage data is generated as users start and stop software applications. The data may be
a usage log file generated by a commercial license manager (e.g., flexlm report),
a proprietary usage log file generated
by a specific software application, or usage data captured by a logging tool.
LT-Analyzer imports this usage data and creates an
internal session database. Optionally, additional information about software users (contact and organization
structure information) and the software features (entitlement and financial details) may also be
imported into the LT-Analyzer database for more detailed
software usage reporting.
Once the database is created usage analysts and managers may query the database to
obtain specific information to address critical business issues. Reporting and charting can be done
either interactively using LT-Analyzer or an entire set of related
and linked reports can be generated using Web Tracker and then viewed
in a web browser.
